Healing Centres and Schools of Training •The Devon School of Shiatsu The Devon School of Shiatsu established in 1985 offers in depth training in the healing art of Shiatsu. It has gained a wide reputation for the quality of its training courses and many graduates of the school have set up successful full or part time Shiatsu practices. Having its roots in the ancient tradition of oriental Medicine, Shiatsu understands the human being as a system of energy (traditionally called Ki) that circulates in channels called meridians. These meridians have physical, psychological and spiritual functions. In Shiatsu the natural flow of Ki is restored by applying pressure with the hands, elbows or thumbs and with simple moving and stretching techniques. This can relieve many physical ailments and bring about healing on an emotional, mental and spiritual level. The school offers one to three year courses as well introductory Shiatsu weekends. For full information please contact the school directly.
